Domestic Violence On the Rise

Over the years, we have seen violence and domestic crime soar beyond our wildest expectations. In Nigeria today it is all the more shocking because of our cultural values, but for unknown reasons these values are swept under the carpet daily.

Time has seen Women, children and even men become victims of domestic violence in our beloved country. Many have lost their lives, have been brutally injured with others left with irreparable physical and emotional scars.
Some bodies such as International Federation of Women Lawyers, (FIDA) have made efforts to combat this growing menace but still it thrives..
Many Celebrities in the Nigerian entertainment Industry like Tonto Dikeh have become victims and very recently Mercy Aigbe Gentry took to social media to make known her ordeal.
